PROFILE

Jerry F. Golanty is the President of BizVal, a Reno, Nevada based business valuation and consulting firm. He is Nevada's only Master Certified Business Appraiser (28 in the USA) and Business Valuator Accredited in Litigation (48 in the USA). BizVal's primary valuation activity is in the State of Nevada and the California Counties of Mono, Sacramento, Eldorado, Placer, Plumas, Yolo, Sierra, and Nevada.

Mr. Golanty is the South West Region Governor of the Institute of Business Appraisers (Nevada, California, Arizona, Utah, Hawaii, the Far East), the premier business valuation organization in the USA. His region consists of approximately 400 business appraisers, of which approximately 40 hold the professional designation of Certified Business Appraiser (CBA). He is also the exclusive member for Nevada and Northern California of National Business Valuation Group, a consortium of independent valuation experts who hold professional valuation credentials conferred by the Institute of Business Appraisers or the American Society of Appraisers.

He has owned business valuation firms, business brokerage firms, and investment real estate and property management firms for over 50 years in California and over 30 years in Nevada. He has qualified as an expert in valuation and business brokerage in the District Courts of Nevada, the Superior Courts of California, and the U.S. Bankruptcy Courts.

Mr. Golanty is a recognized educator in Continuing Legal Education, Continuing Professional Education, and Continuing Education in Real Estate. His articles have appeared in leading business and legal publications.

AREAS OF SPECIALIZATION

As an MCBA and BVAL, Mr. Golanty is a recognized expert in the valuation of closely held businesses and professional practices with emphasis on litigation support (marital dissolution, stockholder/partner disputes, minority interest disputes, bankruptcy, insurance defense, condemnation), probate, estate and business planning, buy/sell agreements, acquisitions, divestitures and exchanges. His expertise includes strategic support in discovery, depositions, settlement conferences, trial preparation, and trial, and critical review and assessment of other expert's opinions and work product.

In 2006 Mr. Golanty was selected by the Institute of Business Appraisers (IBA) to serve as a Director on the North American Business Valuation Standards Council. The Directors represent the five professional organizations in North America (four United States, one Canadian) that certifies/accredits business appraisers.

He is a recognized expert in business brokerage and was Nevada's first Certified Business Intermediary (CBI) as conferred by the International Business Brokers Association (IBBA). In 2006 he was named to a special task force that developed the Business Brokers Permit examination for the State of Nevada. In Feb. 2007 he was invited to join a special study group that will review Nevada's new law regulating business brokerage.
