PROFILE

Kris Bruce is a Nevada Certified Public Accountant. Her expertise includes business valuations, forensic accounting, and tax consulting for individuals and corporations. In addition, her experience includes internal control studies, operational audits, and traditional audit, review, and compilation services to clients in a variety of industries including entertainment, manufacturing, services, and not-for-profit.

Kris is a member of the Institute of Business Appraisers. She is also candidate member of the Business Valuation Section of the American Society of Appraisers.

Kris is currently attending the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where she is earning a Master of Business Administration degree, with a concentration in Finance. In 1997, she graduated summa cum laude from the University of Akron in Ohio with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting, and a minor in Creative Writing. Prior to becoming a partner in BizVal, Kris was employed in the Internal Audit Department of a publicly traded corporation for two years, where she helped implement Sarbanes-Oxley requirements, and also spent four years at a regional public accounting firm in Ohio.

Kris is a member the Las Vegas Chapter of the Nevada Society of Certified Public Accountants, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Las Vegas Chapter of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, and the Institute of Internal Auditors.

Kris is a frequent speaker to banks, law firms and business leaders on business valuation and internal control issues.

2001 to 2003 Southwest Gas Corporation – Internal Auditor. Las Vegas, Nevada.
Performed special projects for management, operational and compliance audits, and assisted in Sarbanes-Oxley 404 compliance.

1996 to 2001 CBIZ Accounting, Tax, & Advisory of Northeast Ohio – Senior Associate. Akron, Ohio.
Performed valuation services and litigation support for clients in various industries. Also performed traditional accounting services, such as taxes (business and individual), auditing, reviews, compilations, and bookkeeping.
